The harvested fruit was pressed at Spring Creek Vintners, just a few kilometres from the vineyard, yielding 82,629 litres of juice, which will be crafted into Vicarage Lane’s 2019 Sauvignon Blanc under the watchful eye of renowned New Zealand winemaker Alan McCorkindale.

Initial bottling of the finished wine will take place in May and, after rigorous export testing to ensure the wine meets New Zealand’s high export standards, the first export shipment can be expected to arrive in Finland late in the northern summer.

In general 2018-19 was an interesting season, with a higher than average rainfall in the spring and start to the summer followed by the hotter and drier than average summer.
