  • Harvest Day #3. Nothing new, just a bit different location. Time to take different kind of photos...black and white! ;) And no, it wasn't that dark day.

  • Today was a day off, but we'll continue harvesting tomorrow...very early morning! (much before wake-up time!) I think I know who is going to look after that first part of tomorrow's harvest. ;)

Vintage 2014

Vicarage Lane Wine’s 2014 Sauvignon Blanc crop was machine harvested on the 1st of April, yielding 145 tonnes of good quality fruit. Having had a rest last year following some frost damage, our vines worked ovetime produsing our largest vintage yet.

The harvested fruit was then de-stemmed and pressed at Spring Creek Vintners, just a few kilometres from the vineyard, producing 115,102 litres of juice which will be crafted into Vicarage Lane’s 2014 Sauvignon Blanc under the watchful eye of renowned New Zealand winemaker Alan McCorkindale.

Initial bottling of the finished wine will take place in June – July and, after rigorous export testing to ensure the wine meets New Zealand’s high export standards, the first export shipment can be expected to arrive in Finland late in the northern summer.
