Vintage 2013

Vicarage Lane Wine’s 2013 Sauvignon Blanc crop was machine harvested on the 8th April, yielding 70 tonnes of excellent quality fruit. The 2013 yield was reduced after some frost damage to tender young shoots in November 2012, but by April was in great condition after the dry, sunny summer that followed.

The harvested fruit was then de-stemmed and pressed at Spring Creek Vintners, just a few kilometres from the vineyard, producing 56,281 litres of juice which has been crafted into Vicarage Lane’s 2013 Sauvignon Blanc under the watchful eye of renowned New Zealand winemaker Alan McCorkindale.

Initial bottling of the finished wine will take place in June – July and, after rigorous export testing to ensure the wine meets New Zealand’s high export standards, the first export shipment can be expected to arrive in Finland late in the northern summer.
